So, it's time for your little one to get his first passport because you've decided to show him the world! Aside from the great impatience for his first trip abroad, he needs a series of things you need to do so he can travel. The first of these is to get a passport, as no other document is accepted. The process is quite simple and doesn't take much time. So, let's see what you'll need:<\/p>\n

– Passport photos<\/strong>. All professional photographers know the dimensions and requirements for lighting, posture, etc. so you leave it to them. Be careful not to use fingerprints when taking the photos because the Passport Directorate machine will invalidate them.<\/p>\n

– Other supporting documents<\/strong>Now the procedures have been simplified and you don't need to have anything with you as they look for everything automatically at the Passport office. However, if you want, it is a good idea to have the child's birth certificate with you.<\/p>\n

– Presence<\/strong>It is understood that for the issuance of the passport, the presence of the child and both parents with their IDs is required or authorization from one parent to the other for the consent to issue a passport. This authorization can be done either at a KEP or through gov.gr with the TAXIS codes.<\/p>\n

– Force<\/strong>. The passport for minors is valid for three years, while for adults it is valid for five years. In order to be able to travel, however, local authorities require that each passport not expire within the next six months from the date of travel.<\/p>\n

– Issue<\/strong>The passport is issued within 4 to 6 days and you can pick it up with your ID.<\/p>\n

– Unbaptized<\/strong>If your baby is unbaptized, you can perform the so-called "naming act" which is done at the registry office where the child's birth was registered, in the presence of both parents or with the authorization of one to the other. Many times this procedure is already done by the maternity hospital when the baby's AMKA is issued.<\/p>\n
