But when has another year already passed? How many things have changed in our lives since last year and how many memories have we created? Days like these always bring back to our minds what happened in the past year and make us think about what we achieved, what we did not achieve, and what goals we will set for the future. And this does not only concern our career or our daily lives, but also the trips that are an integral part of our lives! Especially now that they are being spent with little Konstantinos, who seems to be adapting and enjoying new experiences and new places.<\/p>\n

Undoubtedly, and always speaking \u201cin terms of travel\u201d, 2022 was a strange year. And this is because, while at the beginning the pandemic was still present and people were still hesitant to travel, from spring onwards most countries \u201copened\u201d without restrictions and\u2026 come and see! To describe this new trend, a new term was created on social media, \u201crevenge travel\u201d. That is, trips that people take to somehow take revenge on the pandemic and make up for the lost time they spent at home.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This of course brought an unexpected demand, which combined with the rally in fuel prices, inflation and the war in Ukraine resulted in a sharp increase in prices (both accommodation and airfares). And as if all this were not enough, the tourism industry seemed unprepared to react to the new data, resulting in the chaos we all saw at airports this summer.<\/p>\n

No one knows if these phenomena will repeat themselves in the near future and what changes will occur in travel from here on out. If 2022 brought the triumphant return of travel, 2023 brings its redefinition amidst this changing chaos.<\/p>\n

So, closing the year, we are doing a travel review (we had also done last year<\/a>) to remember the destinations we visited and find inspiration for future getaways!<\/p>\n

United Arab Emirates<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new year found us in a destination that was the most family friendly we have ever visited! Amidst the cold of Europe's winter, the sunny United Arab Emirates<\/a> were a conscious choice and left us with the best impressions! Dubai and Abu Dhabi are truly two impressive destinations that must be visited visits<\/a> and the only thing for sure is that they won't disappoint you.<\/p>\n

Snowy slopes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last winter was one of the coldest we can remember. With so much snow and the beautiful mountains of our country \u201cadorned\u201d, it was time for the little one to take his first snowy excursions and enjoy the white landscape. From January to March we visited the Fir<\/a> and Pertouli, the Pelion <\/a>and our beloved Old Panteleimon Pieria<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Netherlands<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some places are worth visiting when they are at their best. So although we had visited the Netherlands in the past, we decided to go again in April when the tulips are in bloom. What we saw was unique<\/a>! A feast of colors that the eye could not get enough of! Naturally we explored the Amsterdam<\/a> and its surrounding areas and we visited the Efteling<\/a>, a fairytale theme park that made us feel like little kids.<\/p>\n

Islands<\/strong><\/p>\n

Summer and time for islands! Our beloved Cyclades had their moment of honor this year as well. The Kythnos<\/a> won us over from the first moment with its simplicity, picturesqueness, hospitality and photogenic corners! Our next stop was the Kea<\/a> with its beautiful beaches and many choices just one hour away from Attica!<\/p>\n

Always something new<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the fall, besides a few swims in the sea, while the weather was still nice, there were trips to Thessaloniki and Athens where there is always something new to discover!<\/p>\n

Kavala<\/strong><\/p>\n

With November feeling like a little summer, the program included a three-day getaway to Kavala<\/a>We explored the little treasures of the area and enjoyed walks in a destination that can be enjoyed in all four seasons.<\/p>\n

In the midst of all this, this year we gave you some travel tips on how to organize alone<\/a> the trips you dream of, we wrote about some special ones adventures<\/a> our, while our travels were also an inspiration for others<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Here we would like to say a HUGE thank you for your support! Thanks to you, our blog reached 160,000 viewers, which is a special honor for us!<\/p>\n

So 2022 ends with\u2026 planning new trips, reading travel eBooks and making plans for the future. This year at Christmas we will not be traveling, as we used to in other years, as some changes in our work did not allow us to plan anything. However, we have already made a first planning for 2023 and all we can say is that we will travel to dream places!<\/p>\n
