So this is what we spontaneously came up with! Flying our drone over Sivota, the area reminded us of something from a fjord and not without reason... Lace-like coastlines, crystal clear waters, greenery that reaches all the way to the sea, mountains that hug the beaches and some tiny islands thrown into the middle of the Ionian Sea!

This is Sivota. An area undoubtedly gifted by nature that has evolved into a favorite destination for family and non-family vacations. Especially in recent years with the Egnatia and the Ionian Highway, Thesprotia has emerged from its road isolation, making access to it easier and safer.
In this article, we have prepared a guide for you so that you can go prepared and informed to make your vacation easier and carefree!

When to go?
This, in our opinion, is the most important thing to keep in mind. Sivota is a small settlement, relatively spread out of course, which during the “high” tourist season becomes suffocatingly crowded with people. Keep in mind that you will have difficulty finding parking both in the settlement and on the beaches. The ideal time, therefore, to go is either at the beginning of summer (the waters are a bit cold of course) or at the end of it.

Where to stay?
The area has a wealth of accommodation options and you will have no trouble finding the one that suits you. We recommend a unique accommodation that Captain Mike's Villa villa in the best spot of the area amidst greenery and within close distance from the settlement, which we talked about in detail in the article this one.

What to do?
Your pleasant problem will be that you won't know where to go for a swim first! There are so many beautiful beaches, one better than the other. To help you, the beaches are divided into four categories. In those that are north of the settlement, in those that are within of, at southern and the ones you go with only me small boatIn terms of morphology, they are all almost similar in small or larger coves, with alternations of sand and fine gravel.

- Take a boat!
Of course, you will only see the best beaches in the area with the most beautiful waters with small boat! You don't need to have a diploma or special knowledge. They will teach you everything in a fast-paced course on site! If you don't have one, you can join one of those that do daily excursions that leaves you at the beaches and comes to pick you up at the agreed time. Pisina, Diapori, Plakes, Bella Vraka, caves and other small paradises will impress you with the unique geological formations, the turquoise waters and the trees that reach the sea.
- Northern beaches
In north of the settlement are Gallikos Molos, Zeri, PDEI and the new PDEI (here you will need to walk for a while on a marked path and it is the only one that is not organized). These beaches also have the warmest waters in the area compared to the others.
- Beaches within the settlement
Within of the settlement are Kavouno (it also has a nice beach bar - restaurant there) and the well-known Bella Vraka. For Bella Vraka you will need to park quite far away (don't make the mistake of approaching by car) and walk on a paved path having taken an umbrella and supplies with you as it is not organized. When you reach the sea you will walk for about 50 meters in the water (its height does not exceed one meter) and you will come out on the beach which is usually very crowded on weekends and in high season. Our suggestion is to visit it with the boat that you will rent to go to Pisina and Diapori.
- Southern beaches
Southerly of the settlement are the beaches of Zavia, Megali Ammos, Mikri Ammos (perhaps the most beautiful), Mega Ntrafi and Agia Paraskevi (where to go for the sunset). All of them are organized with quite “cool” waters as there are springs near most of them.
How many days should I stay – What else can I combine?
As you saw above, there are quite a few beaches you can go to. If you want to move a little further (towards the settlement of Perdika), there are 2-3 other remarkable beaches, Arillas and Karavostasi. So, there is no way you will get bored even if you stay a week in the area. Sivota can be easily combined with a few more days in Parga (we have told you about Parga in this one the article, where you will also find information about the sources of Acheron), while you can even take a day trip to Paxos and Antipaxos by boat from the port of Sivota. Our opinion, however, is that you should dedicate at least 2-3 days to Paxos because, as you will see in our tribute this one They deserve it and more!
Closing
So, if you are looking for a vacation destination with crystal clear waters, golden beaches and beautiful landscapes without having to board a ferry to an island, then Sivota combines all of the above. A place for peaceful family moments that will meet all your needs and satisfy you with the feeling of carefreeness it will give you.
