Traveling abroad or even vacationing with a child is a task that often causes stress to parents and reflection. And despite the fact that you may be right prepared, there may be an illness or an unpredictable factor that may change the travel plans.
In a previous article We talked to you about the travel medicine cabinet for adults. In this article, we will discuss the travel medicine cabinet for children. It is very important to have some first aid supplies with you… even if you never need them! By having them, you will not have to look for an open pharmacy at your destination. Moreover, in many countries, prescriptions are only issued after a visit to a doctor.

In any case, and before each trip, you should talk to your pediatrician to receive the appropriate instructions depending on the destination you will visit. The ones that our pediatrician suggested to us and seemed useful on our own trips are the following:
✅ Antipyretics (e.g. Depon syrup, Algofren)
✅ Antiemetic (e.g. Emecalm, Primperan)
✅ Syringe
✅ Thermometer
✅ Saline – Otrivin spray
✅ Alcohol
✅ Sunscreen (if you are going to sunny destinations)
✅ Anti-inflammatory cream (e.g. Elocon)
✅ Plaster, gauze, bandage, cotton
✅ Mosquito repellent (in some countries those with the ingredient deet are required)
✅ After-bite cream (e.g. After bite Repel, Crilen After Nip)
✅ Wound antiseptic (e.g. Betadin, Hansaplast spray)
✅ Antibiotic cream (e.g. Backtroban, Mupirocin, Fucidin)
✅ Eye drops (e.g. Tobrex, Optavid Baby S)
✅ Antihistamine (e.g. Xozal, Soldesanil)
✅ Antidiarrheals (e.g. Tasectan, Enderozyn kids, Lacto Levure)
✅ Antitussive (e.g. Mucosolvan, Bisolvon or Trebon if there is phlegm)
Additionally, pay special attention to the correct way to transport and store your medications (you may need an insulated bag), make sure of their expiration date and don't forget to take your child's health booklet with you. Finally, always have the pediatrician's phone number handy and ensure that the your connection will operate abroad.
