Check in at Cavo Olympo: Between sky and sea!

How many times have you said “I would like to go somewhere to escape from everyone and everything, to live a five-star experience, to look at the blue of the sea and to relax without worries and troubles”? Certainly many… You will find all this and much more generously in Plaka Litochoro, in a dreamy place that needs no special introduction. The luxurious Cavo Olympo is in itself a reason to visit the area, to feel the “aura” of Olympus and to experience “divine” hospitality!

The owners turned to the well-known architect Paris Liakos (the creator of Cavo Tagoo in Mykonos and Santorini), who, in an area of exceptional natural beauty, created an impressive elliptical structure of modern aesthetics. From the first moment you understand that everything was designed and decorated with particular taste and attention to detail. The spacious spaces offer an unprecedented sense of freedom while the contemporary design rests the eye, allowing the landscape to have the leading role.

Since 2016, Cavo Olympo has been operating as an “adults only” resort, aiming for privacy and absolute tranquility for couples who desire a different type of accommodation. Access to the resort is particularly easy as it is located a short distance from the Athens – Thessaloniki national road, following the Plaka Litochoro exit.

The Reception

The reception area gives you a taste of the high level of service that you will encounter throughout the hotel. Minimal with modern touches, it combines pleasant earthy materials such as marble, granite, wood and limestone. The space is bathed in light as the glass atrium with the imposing chandelier completes the setting. The reception staff greets you with a smile and is there 24 hours a day to serve you in the best way.

The Room

In the 49 rooms and suites the visitor will find comfort, simple luxury, in open, relaxing shades with views of either Mount Olympus or the sea. For unforgettable romantic moments in a setting of absolute relaxation, choose a Superior room or a Suite with a private pool or Jacuzzi!

In the room we stayed in, the veranda "framed" the blue of the sea, while the sun seemed to be generously offering its most ecstatic sunrises.

The Swimming Pool

Undoubtedly, the “strong card” of Cavo Olympo is the infinity pool. Here, time freezes and you are left carefree in its panoramic view and shades of blue. Your eye gazes at the Thermaikos Gulf and reaches all the way to Halkidiki, while if you look behind you, the majestic Olympus looms. We could sit for endless hours on the comfortable mattresses above the water, enjoying refreshing cocktails and delicious snacks.

Breakfast – Restaurant

The breakfast and restaurant area operates indoors or outdoors depending on the season. In any case, the view of the garden and the pool is unobstructed. The outdoor restaurant “Nero” is literally on the… water, creating an unprecedented sense of coolness.

Due to Covid-19 measures, breakfast did not have the rich buffet of the past. However, the choices on the a la carte menu were more than complete, satisfying even the most demanding.

During our stay we had half board so we were given the opportunity to try the restaurant menu and we were really impressed! We have no words to recommend you to choose something similar as you will enjoy a unique gastronomic experience here. The dinner included a four-course set menu (two appetizers, main course and dessert). Creative, delicious, balanced flavors and combinations, with products selected from the wider region of Central Macedonia. We can confidently say that here we tried the most delicious salmon ever!

Cavo Olympo is also a haven of relaxation and well-being. In the beautiful spa area you will find treatments and massages for complete relaxation and rejuvenation. The services and facilities are such that you will not want to leave. Sauna, hammam, whirlpool, indoor heated pool, as well as a gym, create all the conditions for an even more pleasant stay at the resort. For the time being and due to Covid-19 measures, the indoor pool remains closed.

Closing

Our stay at Cavo Olympo was truly an unforgettable five-star experience. The resort with its easy access to the sea and the mythical “Olympus” is the perfect palette for the ideal vacation in all seasons of the year. We escaped, “recharged our batteries”, rejuvenated and made a promise: We will go again!!
